Camden-Wyoming water authority ordered to comply with FOIA
Updated Wednesday, November 7, 2012 - 4:25pm
A Superior Court judge in Kent County is ordering the Camden-Wyoming Sewer and Water Authority to turn over its employee salary, overtime and benefits information.
The suit was filed by the Attorney General's office on behalf of Wyoming's Treasurer Georgette Williams, whose Freedom of Information Act request was denied.
Judge Young ruled Williams doesn't lose her rights as a citizen because she holds a public office.
In his opinion, Judge Young writes the motive or purpose of a person seeking records is irrelevant under FOIA.
