Delaware sophomore Ryan Cobb made the move in 2011 from the University of Virginia to the University of Delaware and has settled in as a valuable member on special teams and as a backup tight end.

Cobb has played in all 9 games this season and has caught 6 passes for 51 yards.

Cobb is undersized as a tight end, listed at 6-1 and 225 pounds, but he says he's more like an H-back or fullback and is heavily involved as a lead blocker.

Cobb also has one tackle as a special teams member.

Cobb says he was leaving Virginia, intent on transferring when he and his father drove past Newark on their way back to their home in Saddle River, New Jersey.

He said they saw the sign for the University of Delaware and decided to stop by to see if the coaching staff needed a tight end...and the rest is history.

Cobb played at one of the top programs in New Jersey at Don Bosco Prep, where the team won a USA Today mythical national championship in 2009. The team went 47-1 while he was there with three straight undefeated seasons.

Cobb won all-league, all-county and all-state honors while playing linebacker, defensive end and tight end.
