| VIDEO: Hollingsworth declares her intention to go to Delaware | Ursuline volleyball libero Taylor Hollingsworth announced Wednesday she will join the volleyball team at the University of Delaware.
The 5'4" senior completed her senior season Monday night with 43 digs in a 3-2 championship loss to Padua. The No. 4 seeds reached the title match-up by upsetting previously undefeated St. Mark's 3-2 after Hollingsworth recorded 59 of her team's 131 digs against the powerful hitting combination of Abbie Mirabella and fellow-future Blue Hen Lauren Talley.
Ursuline coach Susan Heiss calls Hollingsworth "another coach on the court - directing the hitters and our defense."
Besides volleyball, Hollingsworth also plays soccer and sings in the chorus at Ursuline, and has volunteered for the past two years at the A.I. DuPont Children's Hospital. She was also named WDEL's Female High School Athlete of the Week in mid-October.
Delaware volleyball has earned the No. 2 seed for the upcoming CAA tournament, and have advanced to the NCAA Tournament four of the past five years, including advancing to the 2nd round in 2011.
