High school football tourney kicks off
Three games are on tap tonight when the DIAA high school football tournament swings into action.
In Division 1, a game you'll hear on WDEL, 3rd-seed St. Mark's hosts 6th-seed Cape Henlopen at 7:30...pre-game on WDEL starts at 7:05.
In Division 2, there are two games...3rd-seed Caravel, at 10-0, hosting 6th-seed St. Elizabeth at 7:30. The Buccaneers won the regular season meeting 41-21.
And 4th-seed Indian River, the defending Division 2 state champ, entertains 5th-seed Howard.
Three more games will be played on Saturday. In Division 1, 4th-seed Caesar Rodney hosts 5th-seed Sussex Central...the Riders won the regular season meeting between the two downstate rivals, 20-9.
In Division 2, 2nd-seed Hodgson is home to 7th-seed Delaware Military at 11am while top-seed St. Georges Tech takes on 8th-seed Archmere at Caravel at 7:30....we'll wrap up our high school weekend with that game at 7:05 on WDEL.
