DelDOT reaffirms commitment to fiscal responsibility

DelDOT Secretary Shailen Bhatt says the department is committed to fiscal responsibility.
Bhatt told a Dover subcommittee the department stopped borrowing to pay for construction.
He added the refinancing of a $250 million bond saved taxpayers some $28 million.
Bhatt says the department is taking steps that will put it on financially stable course.
The State Transportation Trust Fund in expected to bring in $520 billion by the end of Fiscal Year 2012.
