Markell nominates judges to replace Henricksen and others
By Amy Cherry

Governor Markell nominates three people to fill vacancies in Superior and Family Court.

Court of Common Pleas judge Eric Davis and Chief Deputy Attorney General Charles Butler have been appointed to fill openings on the Superior Court. The openings come with the retirement of Judge Ableman and Judge Slights.

Deputy AG Paula Ryan, who serves as Sussex County's Chief Prosecutor, will likely fill a vacancy on Family Court after Judge Henricksen was removed from the bench for attempting to have a romantic relationship with a female attorney.

All three nominates will be considered in a special session of the state Senate that hasn't been scheduled yet. At that session, the nomination of Vice Chancellor John Noble for reappointment on Chancery Court will be discussed as well.
