Witnesses lead cops to bank heist suspect
Wilmington police say a bank robbery suspect didn't get to enjoy his ill-gotten gains--he was arrested minutes after the crime, thanks in part to alert witnesses.
Police say Greg Rasberry held up the WSFS branch in the 500 block of Delaware Avenue shortly before 1:30 Wednesday afternoon, and when he made his way out of the bank, witnesses followed him and flagged down an officer, who radioed dispatch and learned a 9-1-1 call about the robbery had just come in.
The caller gave a detailed description of Rasberry and the direction he was heading when he made off with the cash.
Robbery Detail detectives patrolling the area picked up Rasberry, who police say stole a "significant" amount of money.
He's being held at the Howard Young Prison in lieu of bail.
