Traffic deaths up over last year
State highway officials say Delaware is on the road to its first increase in traffic deaths since 2008.
The Office of Highway Safety says 101 people have been killed in traffic accident this year, compared with 92 at the same time in 2011.
Highway Safety spokeswoman Alison Kirk tells the News Journal of Wilmington that alcohol-related crashes are down and seatbelt use is up. But aggressive driving has increased.
Kirk says law enforcement will have a heavy presence on state roads during the Thanksgiving weekend targeting aggressive or impaired drivers.
