A 4-yard touchdown pass hauled in by Caravel's George Murray punched the ticket to the state championship for the Bucs at the conclusion of their 43-42 win in last night's semifinal matchup.
The play came on an untimed down for the last play of the game, ending a sequence that saw four lead changes in the final minutes of the game.
The walkoff play came after Indians' Quarterback Marquel Knight scored on a six-yard touchdown run, his third of the game, with under a minute to go.
It set up the Bucs' last drive of the game, which saw Murray make two catches, one to put Caravel at the 8-yard line and the other for the win.
The game was a rematch of last year's state championship game, which Indian River won. It will be the second year in a Row that Caravel contends for the championship title, as they hope to complete an undefeated season at 13-0.
