Wesley running back Askia Jahad hopes that increased health means increased production as Wesley prepares for a rematch with Mary Hardin-Baylor in the Division III South Region Championship Saturday.

Jahad was limited to one carry for one year in UMHB's 32-25 victory in Dover back in September after Jahad suffered a minor injury in Wesley's win over Salisbury the previous week.

Without the Williamstown (N.J.) High alum, Wesley struggled to move the ball on the ground, recording minus-four net rushing yards. Fellow tailback Devar Robinson did have four carries for 27 yards, but it was not enough as Wesley was forced to throw 48 times against just 14 rushing attempts.

This will be Jahad's 4th game against the Cru. While Jahad has a career 5.3 yards-per-carry average and 1,876 career yards, he has recorded just 16 yards on 11 career rushes against one of the better rushing defenses in the country.

Jahad has saved some of his best rushing games for Wesley's biggest opponents this season, recording at least 98 yards and a score in regular season wins over Salisbury and Birmingham-Southern, while he has gashed Mount Ida and Cortland State for 173 yards and a touchdown so far in the playoffs.

Wesley and UMHB's 3rd straight battle for the South Region Championship takes places Saturday at 1pm Eastern in Belton, Texas. You can hear the game on 1150AM WDEL, WDEL.com, and the WDEL smartphone app beginning at 12:30.
