Bucs, Silver Eagles battle for D2 title Friday night
By Don Voltz

Two teams with high-powered offenses meet up tonight at Delaware State University for the Division 2 high school football championship.

Second-seed Hodgson takes on 3rd-seed Caravel at 7:30.

Hodgson coach Frank Moffett says they have to keep Caravel from getting on a roll.

"We really have to play sound, disciplined and really make, we've got to make plays. Once they get on a roll, they get on a roll and if we can eliminate that roll that they have a tendency to get on ...and our kids are excited about it but, you know, we hope to have our kids in good position that they can make plays this Friday night."

Last year, Caravel edged Hodgson in a semi-final game, only to lose in the championship to Indian River.

Hodgson knocked off Caravel in 2007, 24-16, for their only state championship.

Caravel last won a state championship in 2005.
