Updated Friday, November 30, 2012 - 2:18pm
Governor Markell's chief strategist will be departing next month.
Brian Selander is leaving to help launch The Whistle that bills itself as sports for the next generation of fans.
The startup promotes spectator sports to children ages six through 14, sort of like an ESPN for kids, on all platforms where kids consume media. Kids will also create some of the content.
The Whistle will have a channel on every game console as well as on YouTube and a television show on NBC Sports Network.
The new company hopes to officially launch in March of next year
Selander's last day with the Markell Administration will be Dec. 12, but he plans to continue to live in Delaware.
