A Delaware City plastics company faces more than $70,000 in fines for alleged environmental violations.

The state Department of Natural Resources says Formosa Plastics Corporation violated federal air quality regulations between 2010 and 2012.

The company on Schoolhouse Road in Delaware City produces polyvinyl chloride resin that's used in containers, flooring, and children's toys.

Formosa has one month to request a public hearing to dispute the fines.
