MD to appeal FEMA Sandy $$ denial
Maryland officials say they'll appeal a FEMA decision to deny the state's request for individual assistance for lower Eastern Shore residents whose properties were damaged by Hurricane Sandy.
Maryland's Emergency Management agency announced Tuesday that federal officials notified Governor Martin O'Malley of the denial Monday.
The state was seeking individual assistance as part of a requested Presidential disaster declaration for Dorchester, Somerset and Worcester Counties, and has 30 days to submit its appeal.
