A 31-year old woman told Wilmington Police she was held up at gunpoint outside her home in the 500 block of S. Harrison Street early Wednesday morning.

The woman said she was standing outside her home when two men came up to her...she tried to get inside her house but one of the men grabbed her and pulled her back outside. One of the suspects was armed with a semi-automatic handgun. They demanded money from the woman and she gave them some cash.

As the two men were taking the money, a man and a woman who lived in the same block tried to stop the holdup. The man was assaulted and the suspects got away.

Anyone with information should call Wilmington Police at 576-3620 or contact CrimeStoppers.
