State police say a Greenwood man has been arrested after he allegedly stabbed his elderly parents.

Police say it happened around 9 a.m. Sunday morning when 51-year-old Ricky Brewington, who lives on the 100 block of Broad Street with his parents, stabbed his 80-year-old mother and 82-year-old father inside the home's kitchen.

The victims drove to the Greenwood Fire Department to be treated and Brewington called 911 to report the incident.

A Greenwood police officer took Brewington into custody and his parents were later transported by ambulance to Nanticoke Hospital and admitted in stable condition with multiple stab wounds.

Brewington faces two counts of attempted first degree murder and two counts of possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony and has been been committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $150,000 cash bail.
