Dover City Council OK's MLK tribute
A lasting tribute to Martin Luther King Jr. in Delaware's capital city gets the approval of Dover City Council.
Portions of several streets surrounding Legislative Hall and Legislative Mall will be renamed Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard on the January holiday that honors him.
All but one member of council approved the proposal Monday night, which was the outcome of several months of debate.
Previous proposals included renaming part of Division Street after Doctor King, as well as placing his name on the new Dover Public Library.
