Claymont pharmacy robbed at gunpoint
By Don Voltz

Two suspects got away with an undisclosed amount of cash from a Claymont drug store after firing a gun when the employees didn't move quickly enough.

Delaware State Police say two black males in their early 20's walked into the Darley Pharmacy on Darley Road around 6:45 Thursday evening and confronted an employee near the front of the store.

One of the suspects started swinging a crowbar at the employee after demanding cash from the register.

The clerk complied but the other suspect then demanded money from three other employees and when they didn't immediately hand over the money, he fired into a shelf that contained prescription drugs.

The employees then handed over cash from another register and the suspects fled after being told a silent alarm had been activated.

Anyone with information is asked to contact state police Troop 2 or Delaware Crime Stoppers.
