Del. National Guardsmen heading to Afghanistan
Updated Friday, December 28, 2012 - 7:44am
A half-dozen members of Delaware's Air National Guard are leaving for Afghanistan today.
The airmen include flight nurses, medical technicians and other skilled personnel. They'll be working during the six-month tour with wounded patients and help set up the transporting of patients and medical equipment from combat zones to a U.S. Army medical facility in Germany and back to the States.
The six leaving today are the first in a group of two dozen airmen from Delaware heading overseas for this mission.
