By Frank Gerace

Wilmington police say officers saved the life of a 6-year-old girl who stopped breathing.

Police are just releasing information about the incident, which happened Monday.

The girl, who lives in the 600 block of West 8th Street, stopped breathing around 6 PM, and by the time officers arrived, she'd gone into cardiac arrest.

The cops performed CPR on the girl, who started breathing again and regained her pulse.

She's now in critical but stable condition at A.I. DuPont Children's Hospital.
