Fugitive leads cop on car chase, but runs out of gas
By Frank Gerace

Wilmington police say a fugitive's life on the lam ended Wednesday when the car he was driving ran out of gas on I-95.

Police say Tyree Jackson led an officer on a chase when the cop tried to pull him over for speeding on West 4th Street around 3 PM.

Jackson got onto I-95 northbound, where his car slowed to a stop and he was arrested.

Jackson, who was wanted on an outstanding warrant for violating probation, is now at the Howard Young Prison, charged with offenses including disregarding a police signal, driving on the sidewalk and not having proof of insurance.
