By Frank Gerace

Two convicted felons are in custody after Wilmington police found more than 2 thousand bags of heroin and a stolen gun in a hidden compartment inside a car.

Police say officers investigating a stolen gun report searched the car and a house in the 700 block of North Van Buren Street around 9:30 Thursday morning.

The cops found the heroin in the car along with the gun, which had been reported stolen to County Police.

William Comer of Wilmington and Kenneth Stewart of Claymont, both convicted felons, are legally barred from having guns.

They face charges including heroin trafficking, weapons possession and conspiracy.
