Investigators blame discarded smoking materials for 2-alarm fire in Townsend

Townsend Fire Company spokesman David Hall, Senior tells WDEL News crews from his company, along with Middletown and Odessa, got the call to 201 Main Street around 2 Friday afternoon.
"The structure was reported to be a 2-story, 4-apartment complex."

Firefighters were hampered by the weather.
"The fire was assisted by the wind as we were making our ventilations and attempts to get into the structure. The fire was blowing through the roofline on us."

Fire Marshal's investigators say the blaze started on the back porch of the house, 4 residents were displaced, and one firefighter was treated for smoke inhalation.
