Alfred G. Waters Middle School student Brandon Stewart passed away in August from a rare disease called Spinal Muscular Atrophy.

Brown and the students have dedicated their service work in January to Brandon, a month-long chance to build awareness and raise money for a cure.

"So they decided to come up with their own bracelets that we ordered that say, 'Tackle SMA for Brandon;' they designed T-shirts," Brown says.
