Wilmington police are investigating an attempted bank robbery this afternoon.

Police say it happened a little before 12:30 p.m. at the TD Bank on Delaware Avenue, where police say a man handed a demand note to the teller.

However police say he then snatched the note back from the teller and fled. Officers arrived at the scene after being alerted to the incident by a robbery alarm triggered at the bank.

Police say the suspect is described as black, wearing a dark hoodie, black knit hat and black gloves.

Anyone with information can contact Wilmington police or CrimeStoppers.
