Foundation wants kids to 'PROMise' to drive safely
Your kid is barely back to school after winter break, but she may already be thinking about the prom, and a foundation is aiming to keep her safe.
The SmartDrive Foundation is kicking off its third annual PROMise, asking teens to promise not to text or drink while driving.
"We want them to be thinking about focusing on their driving, wearing their seatbelts, being safe drivers, not being distracted, observing speed limits, being good passengers, so we challenge them to sign the promise," said SmartDrive program director Karen Versuk.

Versuk says kids can sign up at school, or go online. Schools that get the most participation will win money to help pay for their after-prom parties. SmartDrive is a nonprofit run by Delmarva Broadcasting Company, the parent company of WDEL. Get more information
