WDEL now has the name of the victim in the city's latest murder.

Wilmington Police say Ioannis Kostikidis of Townsend was walking to his car on the 600 block of Tatnall Street, like he does every other day, when he was jumped and fatally shot by two men.

Kostikidis, a security guard at the American Beauty Academy on the 200 block of West 9th Street, suffered a bullet to the upper torso. He later died at Christiana Hospital.

The two suspects, wearing hooded sweatshirts, were seen fleeing the scene.

In a statement, Mayor Williams offered his condolences to Mr. Kostikis' family.

He added that "This type of heinous, senseless violence will not be tolerated by this administration or this police department."
