Novice taking a shot at US House seat

A Hockessin businessman with no previous political experience wants to see if he can keep Delaware's lone US House seat in GOP hands.

Republican Fred Cullis announced his intention Wednesday to run for the seat being vacated by 9-term incumbant Mike Castle who last month declared himself a candidate for US Senate in 2010.

Calling himself a fiscal conservative, Cullis says he and Castle share many common goals, but occasionally differ on how to accomplish them...

To date, a pair of Democrats have let it be known that they will be running for Congress -- former Lieutenant Governor John Carney and transportation consultant Scott Spencer. Cullis is the only Republican to declare his candidacy so far, but understands that he too may face a primary next September...
