VIDEO: Highlights of Towson vs. Delaware plus reaction from players

Danielle Parker scored 12 first half points including her 1,000th as a Blue Hen as Delaware cruised to a 77-55 victory over Towson at the Towson Center Thursday Night.

It was a first half game of runs as Delaware (19-3, 10-0 CAA) opened with the first six points only to watch the hosts score the next 9. After Tina Martin called a time-out, Delaware then countered with a memorable 27-4 run that included 10 points from Danielle Parker, with a pair of free throws leading to her 1,000th. She is the 24th Blue Hen to reach the century mark.

Despite Parker's 12 and Delle Donne's 11 points in the first half, the Blue Hens led was cut to 45-28 after a 7-0 run to end the half.

Towson (7-15, 1-10 CAA) mirrored that 7-0 ending to open the second stanza, forcing Tina Martin to burn another timeout to attempt to blunt Towson's momentum.

The Tigers could never get the lead inside 12 however, and the Blue Hens eventually wore down Towson thanks to drives down the baseline by Carra and Trumae Lucas as well as a well timed block, steal, and then three-pointer by Elena Delle Donne, who grabbed her 900th career rebound during the contest.

Delle Donne led the way with 19 points, and is now just 10 points behind James Madison alum Dawn Evans for the CAA's all-time career tops in points. Three teammates joined Delle Donne in double figures: Parker (12), Lauren Carra (13), and Lucas (14).

Delaware will have a showdown with the 2nd place JMU Dukes on the road in Harrisonburg Sunday at 2pm.
