A Wilmington woman is dead after a vehicle accident just across the state line in Kennett Township, Pennsylvania.
It happened around 6:15 a.m. Sunday morning on Old Kennett Road east of Burnt Mill Road, where Pennsylvania State Police say a BMW driven by 18-year-old Kristen Felkowski failed to negotiate a curve and left the roadway.
Police say the car then struck a tree. Felkowski was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 16-year-old passenger from Scranton, Pennsylvania who was a passenger in the vehicle was taken to A.I. DuPont Hospital for Children and was admitted with non-life threatening injuries.
New Castle County and Hockessin Fire Departments and EMS and County police were among numerous agencies that responded to the scene.
