Community rep. says Colonial asking for too much in referendum
The president of a community organization in the Colonial School District says the district is asking for too much in its referendum next week.
Tom Bremer is president of the Antrim Maintenance Corp. in Bear.
"Maybe $100, maybe $150, I think that's livable, but to knock this up to where the numbers are coming at, mine happens to be a $562 increase if it's passed," he said.

The district says it needs an increase of 47 cents per $100 of assessed value to pay for enhancing technology, updating curriculum and expanding the pre-K program.
The last public information session on the referendum is Tuesday night at George Read Middle School at 7 p.m. District residents vote on the issue Feb. 28.
