Wilmington caregiver steals from patient
A Wilmington caregiver faces theft charges for stealing money from an elderly woman.
County police say Barbara Johnson, of West 25th Street, assisted an 84-year-old woman
with basic day-to-day care.
Johnson, allegedly, wrote herself a $500 check from the woman's account and forged
her name.
Johnson also opened two separate accounts for "plus-sized clothing with delivery to
her home and purchased home heating oil using the elderly woman's credit card.
Johnson is charged with several counts of forgery and was released on $2,500 bail.
