An armed robbery early Tuesday morning is under investigation.

Newark Police say a Wilmington University grad student was walking on East Delaware Avenue when he was grabbed from behind.

The man who grabbed him reportedly held what the victim says felt like a gun to his face and demanded money.

The suspect then pushed the victim to the ground at which point three other suspects began to punch and kick him in the head and face.

The robbers stole the victim's wallet and cell phone before he was able to break free.

The gunmen took off in a four door sedan and remain at large.
