Avon Grove's Kyle Daly scored four goals to help boost his Red Devils to a 7-2 victory over Delaware Military Academy in the Delaware Scholastic Hockey Association Championship Game Friday.
Daly recorded a natural hat trick in the second period by breaking open a 1-1 game with a pair of early goals just under two minutes apart, and then his 3rd of the night at the 4:12 mark of the period.
The senior capped off his scoring with an unassisted goal with 2:44 remaining in the 3rd. He also added a pair of assists on goals tallied by Patrick Huver and Justin Este in the third frame.
DMA's Nick Burns recorded both of the Seahawks' tallies, including the opening goal 3:27 into the game off of assists by Brian Henry and Robert Thornton. Thornton was credited with a helper on Burns' 3rd period goal which cut the deficit to 5-2.
Besides Daley's six point night, Andrew Hewitt tallied a goal and five assists, as the line of those two and Huver accounted for all seven Red Devil goals.
Lost in the offensive explosion was the play of goaltender Logan Reisinger, who turned back 34 of DMA's 36 shots. Haden Spence made 18 of 25 saves for the Seahawks.
DMA was looking to win its second straight DSHA title, although they will have a chance at the Delaware State title in a four-team tournament next week.
