Updated Saturday, February 23, 2013 - 9:02am
Wilmington police say an officer who received an award arrested an alleged drug dealer after a foot chase hours later.
Police say Cpl. Paul Ciber and Officer Justin Cannon were on patrol about 9:30am Thursday when they questioned a man they said was acting suspiciously.
Police say the man ran away and tried to discard 13 bags of heroin which were in his pocket. Authorities say the officers caught the man and arrested him.
The night before, Ciber had received the 2012 Kiwanis Officer of the Year Award.
