Sulfur dioxide released from Delaware City Refinery

The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, DNREC, is reporting less than 100 pounds of sulfur dioxide was released into the air from the Delaware City Refinery, located at 4550 Wrangle Hill Road in Delaware City.

The chemical was released just before 11 a.m. Saturday.

This chemical or substance is considered to be hazardous by the EPA.

This incident is currently under investigation by DNREC.
