That's double the previous capacity. The system comes after the company endured harsh criticism for egregious pollution violations.

DNREC Secretary Collin O'Mara says this new system will go a long way towards cleaning up the toxic air in this area and proves that you can have heavy manufacturing in a clean way.

"This is the type of project that will make a real difference in the lives of just regular Delawareans that really just want to raise their family, and go to work, and live in a safe and healthy community," says O'Mara.

The system cost nearly $17 million. Now, Evraz must undergo a series of compliance tests to make good on its Consent Decree with the state to decrease pollution and improve air quality.
