By Tom Lehman

The Department of Corrections says an offender escaped from the Plummer Community Corrections Center in Wilmington.

Officials say 24-year-old Joseph Wilson, who was serving a six-month sentence for a violation of parole on an original charge of second degree robbery, was seen climbing over a perimeter fence around 10:00 p.m. Thursday night.

Wilson is 5 feet 10 inches tall and 170 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair with a scar on his left eyebrow. He also has tattoos on his left hand, right arm, right forearm and back and was last seen wearing dark-colored pants, a dark gray jacket, black knit hat and white sneakers.

His last known address is in Wilmington and anyone with information on his whereabouts should call CrimeStoppers or a local police department.
