Marcus Hook mayor facing charges in gun incident
By Associated Press

The mayor of Marcus Hook has surrendered in connection with an incident in which he allegedly fired a gun during a drunken encounter with another man at his home.

Authorities say Jay Schiliro surrendered Thursday and faces charges including unlawful restraint, false imprisonment and recklessly endangering another person.

Prosecutors say the mayor contacted the 20-year-old man by text and had a police officer deliver him to his house.

Authorities say the man told police Schiliro at one point produced three handguns and waved them around. Police say one weapon discharged into some papers.

The mayor's attorney, Michael Malloy, says he will fight the charges.
