Wilmington police are looking for a man suspected of copper theft in the Highlands neighborhood.

Police say Reed McCready has been named a suspect in the removal of copper gutters and downspouts from homes in the neighborhood.

One of the recent incidents occurred Tuesday morning, when police say McCready was spotted by a passerby while he was removing a downspout from a home on Red Oak Road. When he was confronted, police say he posed as a maintenance worker and continued removing the downspout.

Police say McCready is believed to be driving a dark blue Ford F-250 pickup truck, with red lettering on the rear quarter panels and running boards on the side.

Anyone with information can contact Wilmington police or CrimeStoppers.
