Newark man faces child endangerment charges after allegedly leaving a child alone in a vehicle as he went to class at the University of Delaware.

Two passers-by tell police they saw the three-year-old child crying and banging on the car window Tuesday at lunchtime.

They say the doors were locked and the windows were cracked inside the car on South College Avenue.

The child's father didn't come back to the car until an hour later--that's when police arrested Rafig Gurbanzada.

He's free on $2,000. The child was released into mother's custody.
