A.I. duPont girls' soccer team snapped Caravel's 3-game winning streak with a 2-1 victory Wednesday.

The game was close throughout, with A.I. duPont coming away with the early lead when Megan McCormick scored to put the Tigers up 1, just under 10 minutes into the game.

Caravel (3-0-1) tied the game at 1-1 early in the 2nd period when Rachel Owens kicked the ball in front of the net and Lauren Greer kicked it past the goal keeper.

After great defense by both teams, the Tigers were finally able to break through when Stephanie Davis kicked a ball over the out stretched arms of Caravel's goal keeper to put A.I. duPont up 2-1 with 10 minutes remaining in the game. The Tigers defense allowed them to hold on for the victory.

Stephanie Davis and Megan McCormick each had a goal for the Tigers, while Jomara AnDrade-Mendoza, and Cynthia Hagerty came away with the assists. A.I. duPont will take on Delcastle on Monday.

Lauren Greer had the goal for Caravel and Rachel Owens assisted. Caravel will take on Sanford on Friday.
