State Police have given the all clear after the Sterck School in Newark was evacuated following the discovery of a suspicious suitcase at the school early Friday morning.

State Police say a custodian came upon it outside the rear of the school. No one was around and he alerted authorities.

The State Police Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit was on the scene examining the suitcase and its contents.

The suitcase was found to contain clothing and personal items.

The scene was declared safe at shortly before 10:30 am.
