Police arrest cousins involved in drug sales
New Castle County Police have arrested cousins on drug related charges after police confirmed that they were involved in drug sales while in the community of Edgemoor Gardens on Friday.
Police say 22-year-old Andre Laws and cousin 29-year-old Davern Laws were parked outside of a vacant home on Pennewell Drive. Officers noticed the 22-year-old with an unknown item before driving away in a Ford Taurus.
Police say they stopped Andre Laws because they were aware he did not have a valid driver's license. During the stop officers found suboxone, synthetic marijuana and 15 bags of heroin packaged for sale. The officers also seized $708 of suspected drug money.
The Mobile Enforcement Team later found the subject's cousin Davern Laws with 22 bags of heroin that was packaged for sale with numerous black rubber bands used to bundle packets of heroin.
The cousins were committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institute after they both failed to post more than $20,000 cash bail.
