County police say a man who was injured during an industrial accident in the Sharpley community last week has died.

It happened around 10:10 a.m. last Thursday on the 600 block of Halstead Road, where police say two men were conducting tree work for Rick's Tree Service when a cable used for tree destruction was caught in a wood chipper and struck both workers.

One of the workers, 60-year-old Luis Benjamin Sanchez, whose last known address is in Upper Darby, Pa., succumbed to significant injuries throughout his body after being transported to Christiana Hospital.

A 47-year-old man injured during the incident is listed in stable condition at the hospital, where he's also recovering from his injuries.

A compliance officer from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration was called to the scene.
