Charter's girls soccer team beat A.I. duPont 1-0 last game, and Tuesday's match up against another Flight A opponent appeared all too familiar. In the 63rd minute, Charter's Libby Amer passed to Sam Procak to score the only goal in a conference battle against Appoquinimink.
Charter won the exact same way with the help of Procak and Amer in the second half against the Tigers (6-2-1) last Thursday.
Charter and Appoquinimink(9-1) entered the meeting at Hockessin Montessori School both unbeaten, but one goal is all the Force needed to continue their 9 game winning streak this season.
Earlier in the first half, Appo's goalkeeper, Haley Wahrhaftig dropped to the ground to get to the ball, it was deflected and Charter's Amer had the open look. She shot, she scored but a foul was called and the goal did not count.
The Jaguars had some opportunities in the early going, but Charter's defense proved to be too much. Charter's keeper, Kaitlyn Sieberski tallied six saves on the day.
Charter(9-0) out shot Appo 12-4.
Appoquinimink will try and bounce back in another conference game tomorrow against Middletown, while Charter faces a tough opponent Padua Thursday.
