VIDEO: Highlights and Reaction from Caravel vs. Archbishop Curley

Chad Bradford and Jake Fraley each picked up two hits as Caravel bounced back from its first loss of the season to defeat Archbishop Curley (Md.) 6-4 Monday night.

Defensive mistakes put the Bucs in a hole in the 3rd inning as the Friars scored on a misplayed grounder and a wild pitch to take a 2-0 lead against Bucs' starter Cory Hart.

Caravel quickly recovered in the bottom half of the frame matching the two runs with an RBI double by Tyler Williams and then a run-scoring single by Fraley.

The Bucs took the lead for good an inning laterwith Hunter Ellis hit a 2-out single to drive home Bradford for the 3-2 lead.

Two more runs came across in the 5th for the hosts thanks to an RBI double by David Summerfield, and then an errant pickoff throw at 3rd base which allowed Summerfield to score and put the Bucs up three.

Archbishop Curley attempted to rally in the 6th, getting the tying run up after an RBI single by Christian Hamel off of Summerfield who came into the game, but Jimmy Cassidy then grounded out to end the threat.

Caravel (12-1) put the lead up to 6-3 when Fraley was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to each base for the 4th time in the game.

Luke Skovira ended the scoring with a solo home run to left field in the top of the 7th, but the Friars (12-11) could get no closer.

Hart claimed the win for Caravel with 5 2/3 innings of work allowing just two hits and three unearned runs. He didn't walk a batter while striking out three. Fraley surrendered the home run in the 7th, but recorded the last two outs in what was not a save situation.
