Governor Markell has sent the name of a Court of Common Pleas judge to the State Senate to fill a vacancy on the bench of the State Superior Court.

Andrea Rocanelli has served since 2009, hearing criminal and civil matters, and also heading the court's drug diversion program in New Castle County.

Previously, Rocanelli served as Chief Counsel of the Office of Disciplinary Counsel for the Delaware Supreme Court.

The vacancy on the Superior Court came as a result of the retirement of Judge Jerome Herlihy.
