House Bill 13 is sponsored by State Representative John Kowalko, and it would require lawmakers to wait one year after leaving the General Assembly before becoming a lobbyist. A violation would be a misdemeanor, and it applies to any legislator serving after January 1, 2015.
There was one amendment to exempt uncompensated lobbying activities from the one-year waiting period. The bill now heads to the Senate for consideration.
