Updated Wednesday, May 8, 2013 - 3:18pm
Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge is receiving just under $21 million from Washington, part of a $475 million disaster relief package in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.
The money will be used on a a multi-year marsh restoration project to restore coastal dunes that were significantly eroded by Sandy and begin restoring the degraded marsh.
Prime Hook is a habitat for migratory birds, and other wildlife that are reliant on marshes and wetlands and is a major stopover point for migratory waterbirds.
